I hired John Weinrich/Ele-Com to do some rewiring in a townhouse my wife and I own. The main tasks were to install a new panel, and to relocate the refrigerator and kitchen stove outlets to the opposite kitchen walls from where they were originally located. I also mentioned to John that if he could help me determine the reason why two other outlets were not working that would be very helpful. John came by the townhouse to determine how much work was involved and what materials would be needed for the job. At that time, he gave me an estimate for the work, which I accepted.
The work was done exactly as he had described and within the estimate he had given me (although I did approve a couple of additional changes to the work and materials during the project, the costs were in line with his original estimate). One thing I really liked about the way John works is that he didnt seem to mind my questions. He patiently answered them without it apparently being too much trouble or without it significantly impacting the work. I not only hired John to do the electrical work but through his sharing of his knowledge I know much more about the wiring of the townhouse than I would ever have known. This will help me with any future jobs I need to get done.
One final comment, John is very diplomatic too. Remember the two outlets that were not working? They started to work as soon as the new panel was installed and activated. This lead John to suggest that we check all the outlets in the townhouse (I had installed new outlets myself) just to make sure they were wired correctly. Most were, but a few were not. Without this precaution that John recommended the wiring would have remained in an unsafe condition. He also showed me the proper way to install new outlets. Something I apparently didnt do very well the first time.
Bottom line. The job was done as planned for the amount planned. The house is safer now due to Johns extra due diligence and Im more knowledgeable about how to do simple routine electrical chores in the future. We are very pleased we decided to hire John Weinrich and Ele-Com to help us.
